2026 Summer Hockey Small Area & Systems Camp
Focus Areas: Offence • Defence • 3v3 / 4v4 Small Area Games
Duration: 5 Days
Location: KJ ICE BARN | 2550 E Pinnacle Way, Enoch, UT 84721
Our Summer Hockey Small Area & Systems Camp is designed to develop complete players by focusing on both offensive and defensive skills while applying them in competitive small area games. Athletes will improve their hockey IQ, decision-making, and overall game awareness in a fast-paced training environment.
This camp emphasizes puck support, defensive responsibility, and high-tempo gameplay through structured 3v3 and 4v4 competition.
Age Divisions
Ages 6–9 (Intro Development Group)
This group will focus on understanding the basics of offence and defense while building confidence in small area play.
Players will work on:
- Basic offensive positioning and puck movement
- Introduction to defensive awareness and back checking
- Stick positioning and angling fundamentals
- Passing and support concepts
- 3v3 small area games to encourage puck touches and creativity
The goal is to develop fundamental habits in a fun, structured setting while encouraging teamwork and engagement.
Ages 9–12 (Intermediate Development Group)
This group will build on core fundamentals while introducing more structured offensive and defensive systems.
Players will work on:
- Offensive zone movement and puck support
- Defensive zone coverage fundamentals
- Gap control and angling techniques
- Transition from defence to offence
- Competitive 3v3 and 4v4 small area games
Players will develop quicker decision-making and improved awareness under pressure.
Ages 12–20 (Advanced Development Group)
This high-performance group focuses on advanced systems, defensive responsibility, and competitive gameplay.
Players will work on:
- Offensive zone systems and puck cycling
- Defensive positioning and reading the play
- Gap control and defensive stick detail
- Quick transitions and counterattacks
- High-tempo 3v3 and 4v4 small area games
- Game-like situational drills
Training will simulate real-game intensity and demand strong communication, awareness, and compete level.
