KJ’s Ice Barn adult league rules

Thank you to everyone that has registered for the adult league!

The official rule book for the barn will be based off of the current USA hockey rule book but with a few changes.

If any of our new players are wondering where to find the rule book you can go to the USA Hockey website to find it, you can also download the USA hockey rule book app.

USA Hockey rule book

Regular play:

1. 14 min periods followed by a 5 min 3v3 OT (if needed)

1A. Playoffs will have a 3 man shoot out until we have a winner

2. Offsides and icing will be hybrid/delayed.

Make sure you check in with the score keeper to get credit for the game if you dot have 5 games played you will not be able to participate in playoffs

Fights and suspension

ABSOLUTELY NO FIGHTING!

We here at the barn have a zero tolerance for fighting. By fighting you will be suspended for the rest of the season with no refund. You're accountable for yourself and your actions, if you want to keep playing play by the rules.

For suspensions we are going off the USA Hockey rule book any suspensions that are illustrated in that will be handed out by the officials.

You can find suspensions in the suspension tab of the website.

If you get 4 penalties in a game you will be suspended for a game according to the USA Hockey rule book.

Abuse of officials

ABSOLUTELY NO ABUSE OF THE OFFICIALS!!!

With being under USA Hockey the rules for abuse of officials are a lot more strict. If you have any discrepancies with a call talk to the ref in a professional manner and tone they will do their best to work with you and explain the call further.

Also remember that arguing with a ref can only get you into more trouble and they have the right to kick you out for anything they deem is a violation of the rules and deserves an ejection.

The progression for an abuse of an official penalty.

2min minor - 10min misconduct - 5min major and a game misconduct

Please be considerate to all players in the league, Keep in mind that this is a co-ed league. play hard and play safe!

Thank you and good luck with your season
